The hero of Taco Bay is Teddy — a brand ambassador who represents the spirit of life on the bay and is named after Oyster Bay’s most well known historical resident, Theodore Roosevelt. Teddy is inspired by American vernacular advertising graphics of the 1940’s and 1950’s.
The restaurant is located in historic downtown. Improvements to the exterior included contemporary gooseneck lights, color accents on main entrance/exit doors, and coastal plants.
A lively typographic system mixes contrasting scripts with bold sans serif and slab serif fonts to achieve a balance between vintage and contemporary voices. Catchwords and spot illustrations are combined to create a dynamic brand pattern.
