The Robert F. Calhoun Scout Center is the future home of Hoover, Alabama’s Boy Scout Troop 93. It is named in honor of “Bob” Calhoun, a Birmingham lawyer, who founded the troop in 1965 at Oakmount Presbyterian church and who passed away in 2009. The proposed facility will be a free-standing multi-use building that the troop can “call their own.” To help promote the fundraising activities, this identity highlights Mr. Calhoun with a iconic stipple portrait commissioned by Birmingham-based illustrator David Webb. Supporting color and typography are inspired by the scout uniform and scout patches creating an identity that both honors Mr. Calhoun’s legacy as well as the Boy Scout tradition.
