Alabama Workshop[s] is a project conceived by Auburn Architecture professor Sheri Schumacher. As the creative economy has grown in the southeast United States, the workshop—a place for craft production—has the potential to impact societal needs and local economies. This project highlights a workshop with the celebrated quilters of Gee’s Bend, Alabama. The brochure is designed as a three unbounded nested french-fold signatures that can be unfolded to reveal posters on the reverse side. The brochure form maximizes the delivery of content as well as references the tactile nature of craft production.
