Established in 1948, Camp McDowell is a camp and conference center in northwest Alabama. Originally created as a summer camp for children, Camp McDowell has grown into a diverse operation that offers experiential environmental education and a modern conference center. In 2007, Camp McDowell began offering classes through the Alabama Folk School — a premier venue to learn about folk art and traditional music. This catalog is the first printed publication for the Alabama Folk School that documents the workshop offerings for 2015. The design combines photographic textures, vintage engravings and collage-like compositions that allude to the improvisational and collaborative nature of the folk arts and music.
